Anyone who thinks that rivalry between Anderson Silva e Chris Weidman remained in the past. When commenting on the North American's controversial defeat to Gegard Mousasi at UFC 210, held last Saturday (08), in Buffalo (USA), the 'Spider' didn't miss the opportunity to needle his tormentor, responsible for putting an end to his middleweight reign. Although he admitted that referee Dan Miragliotta made a mistake, the Brazilian teased that Weidman's 'luck' had run out.

“I quickly saw a clip they showed me on the phone. The rule is very clear: he didn't have his hand on the ground. So, he took the knee, and the knee was legal. The rule is clear. If he had his hands on the ground, four points of contact, you can't hit him. Mousasi lifted him when he hit. It was a mistake by the referee, obviously, and when he put his hands back there, he was defenseless. But these things happen. Weidman is a very lucky guy, and this time he was unlucky. He is very lucky, but his luck has run out. He was lucky for a while, and now it’s over,” said Anderson, in an interview with the website “MMA Junkie” (USA).

In 2013, during the promotion of the rematch between the two, Spider had already insinuated that his rival won the first fight by luck. Now, when asked if Chris had more luck than skill, Anderson simply replied: “A lot of luck. Lots of luck.”

The rivalry between Anderson Silva e Chris Weidman began in July 2013, when the North American knocked out the Brazilian at UFC 162, and put an end to Spider's reign of seven years and ten title defenses in the middleweight division. The rematch between them took place in December of the same year, and was marked by the shocking injury to Silva, who fractured his leg after delivering a low kick to his opponent.
