After his third consecutive defeat, the former champion Chris Weidman complained about Dan Miragliotta's arbitration, and warned that he will appeal the setback to the New York Athletic Commission. After an apparently illegal strike, the central referee had to consult officials who saw the replay and decided that the knee given by his opponent, Gegard Mousasi, it was cool. However, the use of replays is not permitted in the organization. The Armenian's victory was declared, as the North American was in no condition to fight

After the fight, Weidman had already said that he intended to request the annulment of the victory result for Mousasi, which was confirmed by his manager Audie A. Attar, to the North American website NewsDay.com. The appeal must be made this Monday (10). The former champion also reiterated his request for an immediate rematch

“The whole time they were telling me it was an illegal knee and that I would have five minutes. I thought I was going to win because of an illegal knee. So they looked at the replay, he (Dan Miragliotta) came out of the octagon to look at the replay and said it was a cool knee, but in the state of New York there is no replay. If it was a good knee, I would love to keep fighting (…) I would like to do the rematch. I feel like I was on my way to winning the fight. I know Gegard was obviously annoyed too. He didn't want to win like that. I would be angry if they stopped and I won the fight. I want an immediate rematch”, commented the American.

However, it shouldn't be easy for Weidman to get his rematch. That's because Mousasi had his last fight under his current contract and announced that he wants a substantial raise to renew with the UFC. The Armenian guarantees that he does not intend to leave Ultimate, but warned that he deserves to be paid at the same level as other athletes, citing Weidman himself, in addition to Dan Henderson, Vitor belfort e Ronaldo Jacare.

PUBLICITY:

“My goal is to win the UFC belt. I'm not looking to go anywhere else, but I should be paid better. I beat Jacaré, I won Dan Henderson, I won Mark Hunt, I won Vitor belfort and I beat Weidman. They are all making more money than me. Why that? Is it because of my nationality? Do you want me to dye my hair blonde?”, highlighted Mousasi.
