Mayweather's uncle says UFC wants 80% of McGregor's purse

Former boxer reveals that superfight between his nephew and Irish champion has not been finalized yet because of Ultimate

Despite UFC president Dana White saying publicly that he is supporting the superfight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, Ultimate still seems to be the big stumbling block on the path to making the fight official. According to Jeff Mayweather, uncle of the American boxer and also a former boxer, the organization is asking the Irishman to give him most of his millionaires bag that he would win from the eventual duel.

In practice, this means that, to release the lightweight champion from his exclusive contract with the UFC, the organization wants 80% of everything he receives in exchange. Conor McGregor win from the duel – Floyd seeks a 70%-30% split in his favor regarding the profits from the event.

“The last thing I heard was that Conor had to split 80-20. He would take 20% to be allowed to fight. Dana is your boss. He would still make more money than he ever did, but it's still very tough. If I say I'm going to take 80% of your money when you're the one who's going to fight…”, Jeff commented to the “Eyes on the Game” channel.

Recently, Dana White praised Conor McGregor for his stance towards the UFC and admitted that he would allow the Irishman to venture into boxing. Previously, the manager denied the possibility of releasing his organization's lightweight champion for a boxing duel, but changed his stance over time.
