In an interview with a Japanese newspaper, Mister Bushido, Takanori Gomi spoke about his new phase in his career. check out

Super Fights:-You finally announced your next fight. Can I ask you about 2007?
Gomi: I don't want to go back to the past.

– You are a famous fighter and many people were wondering where your next
fight and I heard a lot of rumors.
I know that many publications talked about me because they expected a lot from me. I answered
answer your questions honestly. However, I couldn't say anything about my contract before I signed it.

PUBLICITY:

– How did you feel while you were negotiating with various events?
I lived my normal life and did what I could do. I trained. I wasn't sure if I
I would like to fight last year. But I knew my fans would like to see my fights and
I appreciated the encouragement. I took a break, and that's what I needed.

– You went to watch the UFC live last year.
I didn't want to stay in Japan and wanted to go somewhere for fun. That is all.

PUBLICITY:

– Did you feel uncomfortable staying in Japan during NYE? I think because many
People were curious and asked how did you feel?
Not exactly. I have wrestled in front of large crowds in Saitama for many years prior to
end of the year event, and I had parties with my team and friends after the fights. I stayed
sad when I thought about watching the event on TV alone at home at the end of the year. I missed
of the countdown with thousands of MMA fans at the Saitama Super Arena. The UFC event
It was really good, and I even thought about fighting there. But I like Saitama fans. I felt that the
New Year's event in Saitama was more energetic and powerful than the UFC.

– You decided not to fight in the UFC. I heard Dana White said you chose Sengoku
because of the money.
I did not know that.

PUBLICITY:

– He says negative things about fighters who don’t sign with him.
Well, I'd rather watch the UFC than fight in it. It's definitely amazing to travel to Las Vegas,
enjoy the casinos and watch the UFC with pretty girls. I would like to go and see the UFC
again. I'll stay in touch with Dana White to get a free pass.

– Did you watch the Japanese events?
Yes. I mainly watched the middleweight fights. But I sped up some parts and it didn't
I watched entire fights.

– Did you imagine having fought on Yarennoka or Dynamite?
If I fought in these events, I would like to fight JZ Calvan, because he is a
champion. I wasn't ready to fight and I didn't want to have a fight that disappointed my friends.
fans. Eventually, JZ canceled his fight.

PUBLICITY:

– Did you receive any offers to fight JZ?
No. If I could fight anyone, I would probably choose JZ. I went to see Heros and
I thought no one could stop him. It seemed like the Heros fighters didn't want to fight
he, and the fans at the event thought the same thing.

– Is that why you would like to fight him?
It was kind of weird for me to challenge him, though.

– But you are the Pride champion, too!
Well, it's true that I defeated Sakurai in front of the public, but I feel like this
belt was no longer valid. That's why I want to go somewhere new.

– Do you still have your belt?
It's at my house. But I still don't know where to return it.
