Number 5 in the middleweight rankings, Gegard Mousasi is another elite fighter who has his eyes on the Michael Bisping. With a scheduled fight against Chris Weidman at UFC 210, April 8, in Buffalo (USA), the Iranian-born Dutchman believes that Yoel romero, one of his main competitors in the title race, is at a disadvantage for one reason: not knowing how to speak English.

“It’s a popularity contest. Yoel romero is next, but he won't get his title shot, because he's Cuban and doesn't speak English (laughs). I have to win this fight to receive the “title shot”, declared Mousasi, in a promotional conference call for next Saturday's event.

Asked about Bisping's recent statements, which he threatened not to face Georges St Pierre If the Canadian doesn't fight again by July, Mousasi admitted he doesn't believe the English's words.

“Bisping is all talk. Nothing will happen, he will wait. I don't think he wants to fight Yoel romero, he wants to postpone this as long as possible. He wants to make money, you can't blame the guy, he wants to take care of his family, good for him. But the number 1 challenger has to receive his “title shot”, concluded the fighter.
