The exam was held on October 13 last year, when Nicolau was preparing to face the Japanese Ulka Sasaki in the UFC Sao Paulo. The penalty was applied retroactively, which allows the fighter to return to action in October this year.
Nicolau, 23 years old, had two fights in the UFC. In the first of them, he beat his colleague from TUF Brasil 4 Bruno Korea by completion. He then overcame former title challenger John Moraga in June 2016. In total, he has 12 wins, one setback and one draw as a professional.
