UFC 212 had another fight added, this Friday (24). The event, which takes place in Rio de Janeiro, on June 3rd, will bring another fight from Espírito Santo Erick silva in the country. “Tigre faces Hawaiian Yancy Medeiros, a former lightweight, who will only be fighting in his second fight in the welterweight category (under 77 kg). Medeiros himself revealed the duel's marriage to the North American TV channel “KHON-TV”.

Erick silva comes from a victory over Luan Chagas, in UFC Brasilia September last year in a tough fight. Faced with Medeiros, he will try a new streak of victories to get back into the top-15 of the welterweight rankings. Before the duel against his compatriot, Erick had come from two defeats, to Neil Magny and before Nordine Taleb.

Medeiros also won his last fight, when he made his welterweight debut. He submitted Sean Spencer with a rear naked choke at UFC 203, also in September 2016. Previously, he had fought in Brazil, where he lost to Francisco Massaranduba at the historic UFC 198, in Curitiba. The duel received the Fight of the Night award at the time.

UFC 212 will feature a featherweight title unification duel as its main event. The linear champion José Aldo faces the owner of the interim belt Max Holloway, a personal friend of Medeiros, as they both come from Hawaii. A middleweight duel between the former champion was also confirmed for the event. Anderson Silva and the prodigy Kelvin Gastelum, plus a fight between straws Claudinha gadelha e Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
