Dana White, president of the UFC, never hid the fact that he was always against a possible boxing confrontation between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, but, little by little, the leader seems to be changing his mind. According to Dana, the high numbers involving the two fighters must be essential for the duel to get off the ground and take place in the ring.

“I don't know (when it will happen), probably not for a while, but I believe it will happen. There is a lot of money involved for it not to happen”, declared the president, in an interview with channel X17 (USA).
Conor and Floyd even continue to provoke each other on social media and in interviews. Last week, they disagreed about the date of the fight, as the Irishman plans the meeting for September, while the boxer wants it to be in June. Dana, once again, did not hide his preference for McGregor, and stated that the UFC lightweight champion could surprise.
“The good thing about fights is that you never know who is going to win, believe me. There are many weeks where we put on certain fights thinking that someone won't win and they do. He's the crazy one in this business. What I mean is: if Floyd Mayweather was guaranteed to win this fight, why would you pay for it? There is no guarantee. Conor is 27 years old, Floyd is 40. Conor is stronger, bigger and has knockout power. It’s an interesting fight,” concluded White.
