Conor McGregor steals the show wherever he goes. Last Friday, the UFC lightweight champion was in the corner of Irishman Mick Conlan, who faced Tim Ibarra at a boxing event in New York, on Saint Patrick's Day, the patron saint of Ireland. After the duel, however, he spoke about negotiations with Floyd Mayweather, assured that the fight will happen and promised to knock out the former boxing champion, who recently officially came out of retirement.

– Nobody in this boxing world knows what’s coming. Believe me. When I get in there, I'm going to shock the world. Can believe. Look into my eyes. Twenty-eight years old, more confident than ever. Long, good distance, dangerous with each hand. Believe me, I will stop Floyd and you will all eat your words. The whole world will eat its own words. We are very close (to closing the duel), you will hear it soon. I'm going to leave here and yes, I'm going to box – challenged McGregor.

Even with the Irishman's words, the duel with Mayweather is still not agreed. While negotiations continue, McGregor has a hearing scheduled for next week with the Las Vegas Athletic Commission. He will discuss the punishment received for throwing bottles at Nate diaz during the press conference before UFC 202 in August last year.
