it's not just Ronaldo Jacare who is dissatisfied with the announcement of the fight between Michael Bisping and Georges St.Pierre, valid for the middleweight belt (up to 84kg.). Former category champion, Chris Weidman also disapproved of the match, stating that the two fighters will disrupt the progress of the division.

“This is, without a doubt, holding back the division, which is terrible for all middleweights. I understand Georges St-Pierre. He was given the chance to fight for the middleweight belt against a guy who is less dangerous to him than Tyron woodley, if he fought at welterweight. It's a great opportunity, and I understand that he accepted it. For Michael Bisping It's also a great opportunity. He's going to make a lot of money facing a guy who came from welterweight and hasn't fought in three years. For these two guys everything is working perfectly, but for the rest it sucks”, said Weidman, in an interview with the website “MMA Fighting” (USA).
Chris Weidman, 32 years old, is not going through a good moment in his career. After knocking out Anderson Silva at UFC 163, in July 2013, and won the middleweight belt, he defended the title on three occasions, all against Brazilians – Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida e Vitor belfort. However, he was dethroned from his post and suffered the first defeat of his career when he was knocked out by Luke Rockhold at UFC 194, in December 2015. His last appearance was at UFC 205, last November, when he suffered another knockout setback, this time against the Cuban Yoel romero.
