The Brazilian Muay Thai Confederation will open its 2008 calendar with the Carioca Mauy Thai Championship. Valid according to the Brazilian ranking, the event will take place this Saturday, February 23rd, at the Clube do América gym, in the Tijuca neighborhood, north of Rio de Janeiro. Divided into two tournaments, the event will feature the newcomers class, for athletes with a maximum of three fights in the ring and the open class, for athletes with more than four fights in the ring. Registration is closed and today the draw for fight weddings will take place at the Boxe Thai gym from 15pm. On Saturday, the event is scheduled to start at 10am.
