After being knocked out by Conor McGregor and lose the lightweight belt (up to 70kg), Eddie Alvarez already has a date, place and opponent set for his return to the Octagon. He will face Dustin poirier at UFC 211, May 13, in Dallas (USA). The information was given first hand by 'ESPN' (USA) and confirmed by Ultimate itself.

Former Bellator lightweight champion, Alvarez debuted in the UFC in September 2014, when he was defeated by Donald Cerrone at UFC 178. Afterwards, he defeated Anthony Pettis, Gilbert Melendez and Rafael dos Anjos, when he won the division belt. His last fight was precisely the defeat against Conor, in November 2016, at UFC 205.
Poirier, in turn, is coming off a victory: he beat Jim Miller at UFC 208, in February this year, recovering from the knockout suffered by Michael Johnson. Previously, he had won four consecutive victories since moving up to lightweight. At 28 years old, Diamante, as he is known, has 13 triumphs and four setbacks in the organization.
211 will feature two title fights. For the heavyweight division, Junior Gypsy rematch the champion Stipe Miocic, while Jéssica “Bate-Estaca” faces the Polish Joanna Jedrzejczyk, in a duel valid for the strawweight belt. Two more Brazilians are scheduled for the card: welterweight Demian Maia, which faces Jorge masvidal, and Fabricio Werdum, who is waiting for a new opponent after Ben Rothwell, his original opponent, was caught in an anti-doping test.
