The 25-year-old Russian debuted in the UFC in February 2014, when he was beaten on points by Brazilian Idemar Marajó at UFC Barueri. After the first defeat, he scored five consecutive victories, including triumphs over Alan Jouban and Lorenz Larkin. However, he was defeated in his last two fights by Gunnar Nelson and Leon edwards, both by submission. In total, he has a record with 17 positive results and four negative results.
Tumenov is the third relevant name in the welterweight category to leave Ultimate in recent days. Previously, former ranked players Lorenz Larkin and Rick Story were also discarded by the organization.
