Garbrandt hits back at Dillashaw: 'Fakeest person I know'

The bantamweight champion, cody garbrandt, criticized his former teammate and future title challenger, TJ Dillashaw, and said that his next opponent is the fakest person he has ever met. In an interview with international media to promote TUF 25, where he is one of the coaches, “No Love” made a point of criticizing Dillashaw, another coach from the reality show season, and also gave the example of two current team partners who are in his corner, even though he had worked with the former champion on other occasions.

“I'm real, I confront problems and that's the kind of thing fake people don't do. This is TJ. He is the fakest person I have ever met. He said that Justin Buchholz and Danny Castillo (former fighters and current coaches) were his best friends, but they are with me, they are in my corner and we were world champions together. I always wanted this fight, because of the way he treated our team, not like a fighter, but like a man. There’s an animosity to it,” Garbrandt revealed.

While Dillashaw won the bantamweight title over the Brazilian, Renan Barao, still with Team Alpha Male, Garbrandt was taking his first steps in the UFC in the same division as his then teammate. After becoming a world champion, however, TJ left the Sacramento team and moved to Denver, to a team that was being formed and is now called Elevation. Most of the Alpha Male athletes didn't like their ex-partner's change of scenery and cut ties, like Garbrandt himself and Urijah faber, team leader. Others, like Lance Palmer and Joe Benavidez, have remained friends with TJ and train with both teams.
