The middleweight champion Michael Bisping provoked again Anderson Silva, former owner of the belt. The Englishman criticized the Brazilian's performance against Derek Brunson at UFC 208 last Saturday (11) and said that Spider is “tarnishing his legacy” with performances below expectations. Even so, the “Conde” made a point of praising his former opponent – the two fought in the UFC London February 2016, with the Brit winning a controversial decision. That's because in the third round, Anderson celebrated a knockout at the bell when he hit his rival with a knee, despite referee Herb Dean having ordered the fight to continue.

“I don’t want to kick a man who’s down, I swear I won’t. I bought pay-per-view to see Anderson Silva. Regardless of what happened between us, I'm a fan of his, and he always brings this kind of animation. Even at the end of the fight, you thought “is he going to pull a rabbit out of his hat?”, but that didn't happen. What happened was that Anderson let Brunson take control of the action and the fight went to a decision. We all thought Brunson was going to win and Silva winning was a shock, it was a bizarre performance and I see his legacy slowly being tarnished. Let’s put it this way,” Bisping said on the “SiriusXM” radio program.

Despite the criticism, Anderson has already warned that he will continue fighting. Coming off a victory, the Brazilian expressed, before the duel against Brunson, interest in having a rematch with Michael Bisping. However, Spider warned that he would only fight his rival away from England, as he believes that the side judges only saw Bisping's victory because he was the home fighter.
