The new UFC featherweight champion, Germaine DeRandamie, he didn't like seeing his opponent for the title at all, Holly holm, file an appeal to try to annul the result of the fight between the two. The North American claims that the punches thrown by GDR after the bell sounded were fundamental in her defeat and asks that the Dutchwoman's victory be turned into a No Contest (fight without result).

“If Holly thinks the lack of points deduction is the reason she lost to me, then she should accept my offer of a rematch. Every now and then, in the heat of battle, you hit and get hit. Absolutely, the punches were unintentional and that's what irritates me. People saying I'm a dirty fighter. I'm not and that hurts me. I have a lot of respect for Holly, her team and the UFC. It’s sad that this kind of thing happened”, declared the champion in a telephone interview with international media.
About Chris Cyborg who, initially, would be the next fighter in line to challenge for the UFC title, Germaine says she would fight the Brazilian, but that she prefers to face Holm first.
“Any fighter who has a chance to fight for the UFC title has to be prepared to face anyone. I don't take Cyborg's teasing personally. I know I’m not afraid and I’ll fight anyone,” he concluded.
