Fedor Emelianenko and UFC dated, but there was no marriage. After starting negotiations with the largest MMA organization in the world, the Russian chose to sign with Bellator, chaired by Scott Coker, with whom he already had a closer relationship. According to the fighter, what weighed most on his decision was the fact that Bellator had offered contracts to all members of his team.

“I received a great offer from Bellator, who also invited my entire team. All my companions will also fight. One of the main reasons was this, my entire team fought in the competition. Another issue is that we were not in agreement with the UFC regarding the financial conditions, in addition to other minor things”, declared Emelianenko, in an interview with the program “The MMA Hour”.
Fedor also revealed that conversations with Ultimate evolved, but the agreement, however, was not signed due to differences in the demands of the two parties.
“Often you can get very close to something but never complete it. Some things were not satisfactory for the UFC, others were not satisfactory for me, so we were unable to reach an agreement”, said the Russian, who concluded by stating that retirement, despite being 40 years old, is not part of his plans.
“I don’t think about retiring. I understand that I don't have much time left, considering my age, of course. But no, I didn’t think about retiring after the last fight, I didn’t have any thoughts like that,” she concluded.
Fedor Emelianenko will make his debut for his new organization this Saturday, the 18th, when he faces former UFC Matt Mitrione in the main fight of Bellator 172. He has not performed since June 2016, when he overcame Fabio Maldonado in a controversial and controversial decision by the judges, at an event held in Russia.
