First UFC featherweight champion, Germaine DeRandamie should defend her title for the first time against the Brazilian Chris Cyborg, considered the best fighter in the category. The Dutchwoman, however, has other plans.
After revealing that she had a hand injury, and therefore did not plan on returning to the octagon anytime soon, the Dutchwoman offered a rematch to Holly holm. The two faced each other last Saturday (11) for the division's inaugural title, in the main fight of UFC 208.

For De Randamie, facing Holm again is a matter of honor, as she was accused of being a cheating fighter, for throwing punches after the bell sounded after two rounds of the duel with the American. The former bantamweight champion herself said she had lost respect for the new owner of the Ultimate belt.
“I want to say that it was a tense duel, with a lot of emotion, and that I am not a cheating fighter. I always trained to fight until the end or until the referee stopped the action. I didn't throw any punches while the referee stopped the action and I didn't land a dirty hit on Holly. I have a lot of respect for her and the UFC and that's why I want to say that now I think I owe Holly a rematch to make sure the winner of this historic belt is completely clear. Holly, let's do this again. Much respect”, commented the new champion, through her social networks.
De Randamie's willingness to face Holm could leave Cyborg in a difficult situation. One of the options is that, if the Brazilian is actually cleared of doping accusations by USADA (as Dana White indicated will happen), she will face Megan anderson at Invicta. The Australian holds the interim featherweight belt, while Cris holds the linear title. The winner of the fight that will unify the Invicta belts can later fight for the UFC weight title.
