Rani Yaya is another Brazilian confirmed for UFC Fortaleza, on March 11th. The bantamweight faces Joe Soto, known for having replaced Renan Barao against TJ Dillashaw on the eve of UFC 177, when he took the champion until the fifth round before being knocked out.

At the time, Soto was making his Ultimate debut and would have another opponent. However, when Barão passed out during the weight cut and was removed from the main fight, which would be a rematch for the title he lost months before, the American was promoted to the main fight of the event. Joe Soto is coming off a victory over Marco Beltran in the UFC Mexico of the 5th of November.
Yahya, known for having one of the best ground games among lighter fighters, is on a four-fight winning streak. In his last commitment, in front of Michinori Tanaka in the UFC Brasilia, the Brazilian won by unanimous decision. Previously, he had already surpassed Matthew Lopez, Masanori Kanehara and Johnny Bedford.
UFC Fortaleza will have as its main fight a middleweight duel between the former light heavyweight champion Vitor belfort e Kelvin Gastelum. Mauritius Shogun, Edson Barboza e Bethe Correia These are some of the Brazilians also confirmed to fight in the Northeast of Brazil.
