Another Brazilian will compete for a UFC belt. Strawweight Jéssica “Bate-Estaca” Andrade will face the champion in the Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 211, May 30, in Dallas (USA). The news was first published by the Polish website “Sport.pl”.
At 25 years old, Bate-Estaca won the three fights he had in the strawweight category, the last of which over Angela Hill in the unanimous decision of the judges at UFC Houston, on February 4, 2017. Before, he had knocked out Jessica penne and finished Joanna Calderwood. In total, there are 16 wins and five losses in his career (7-3 in Ultimate).
Polish Jedrzejczyk, 29, has been champion of the division since March 2015, when she knocked out Carla esparza and won the belt. Since then, he has made four title defenses, including a victory over the Brazilian Claudia gadelha, in July last year. Her most recent triumph was against her compatriot Karolina Kowalkiewicz, in November 2016, at UFC 205. She is undefeated in MMA, having won the 13 fights she has had.
In addition to Jedrzejczyk x Jessica, UFC 211 will also feature another title fight involving a Brazilian. The heavy weight Junior Gypsy will take revenge against Stipe Miocic, current category champion. Another confirmed name is that of Fabricio Werdum, who squares off with Ben Rothwell.
