This Tuesday (7), Vitor belfort celebrates 20 years since his debut in the UFC, when he won the heavyweight tournament held at UFC 12. To get there, the Phenomenon beat Tra Telligman and Scott Ferrozo on the same night. As a “birthday” gift, the Brazilian asks for a new fight with the current middleweight champion, Michael Bisping, who has already won in the UFC Sao Paulo in January 2013, with a kick that led to the Englishman being knocked out.
“Reinventing myself has always been a good trait of mine. I'd love to fight Bisping, kick him in the face again. He doesn't have a fight scheduled, he doesn't want to fight anyone, he's choosing an opponent, so I think he'll choose a rematch. He chose Dan Handerson to fight, so I'm making myself available to him. He doesn’t want to fight Jacaré, so let’s do this rematch”, commented Vitor on the Sensei Combate program.
Before dreaming of a title fight, however, Belfort needs to go through Kelvin Gastelum. The two face each other in the main fight of UFC Fortaleza, on March 11th. The first Ultimate event in Brazil in 2017 also features Edson Barboza x Beneil Dariush, Mauritius Shogun x Gian Villante, Bethe Correia x Marion Reneau, among other fights.
