'Korean Zombie' performance makes Dana aim for UFC return to South Korea

Inactive for three years, Chan Sun Jung returned to the Octagon, knocking out Dennis Bermudez in less than three minutes

The overwhelming knockout of Chan sung jung em Dennis Bermudez, in the main fight of UFC Houston, last Saturday (04), definitely impressed the UFC bosses. Dana White, president of the organization, admitted that the impeccable return of 'Korean zombie', who had been away from the Octagon for three years, was an additional motivation for the franchise to return to South Korea.

“I don't know if anyone in the history of the fighting world has ever made a comeback after more than three years without competing and done as well as he did tonight. Very impressive. He got us excited for UFC Korea. Ari Emanuel (UFC owner) and I have been talking about going to Korea and I think that tonight he sealed that deal”, declared the president, in an interview with the “Fox Sports” channel (USA).

Ultimate arrived for the first time in South Korea, more precisely in the capital Seoul, in November 2015, when Ben henderson derrotou Jorge masvidal in the main fight of the night. In this ocasion, Chan sung jung he was still dedicated to the country's mandatory military service, which made his presence on the card unfeasible.

Before last Saturday, Korean zombie he had last performed in August 2013, when he was knocked out by the Brazilian José Aldo at UFC 163. At 29 years old, he has 14 wins and four losses in his career (4-1 in Ultimate).
