Last Tuesday, Amanda nunes used social media to publish an apology a Ronda Rousey, whom she knocked out at UFC 207, on December 30, 2016. In the message, the Brazilian bantamweight champion recanted for having provoked 'Rowdy' after the duel, going so far as to say that the North American should retire because she was 'finished '. However, according to the Brazilian, she was upset at the time of her statements, largely due to the excessive attention given to her opponent.

“The apology was for the words I said. I think it was a little too much because I was very upset, very angry about how I got promoted (for) the whole thing. I was the champion and I didn't get the credit I should have. I feel like everything was about her”, declared the athlete, in an interview with the “Las Vegas Review-Journal” (USA).

“I've never fought angry before. That was the only fight that made me fight angry, upset and hurt. They hurt me and after the fight I couldn't control myself. I said bad words and I know there were a lot of kids that night, a lot of people who didn't want to hear that bad speech. But I was so upset and so hurt, I couldn't hold back. That's why I decided to publish this after a few days, a few weeks after the fight, because it was better now. I can hear everything, all the things, and I calmed down more, but I was very upset about everything”, she added.

Asked about Ronda's importance, the 'Lione' praised the former champion, but emphasized again that she should have received more credit after reaching her current level “For sure. Ronda Rousey it was huge. We know what Ronda Rousey did for this sport, especially for women's MMA. I know everything. I respect her for that. But I was the champion. I should have enough credit. That's why we have the belt. That's why the UFC has the belt. Who is the best? You have the belt. I was the best. Now everyone will respect me and treat me better, and I think I deserve it”, concluded Amanda.
