It is not today that José Aldo talks about switching to boxing. Last year, irritated by the UFC's stance, the Brazilian revealed that he would like to test himself in the Nobre Arte. However, Aldo wants more than that: the Ultimate champion dreams of becoming the owner of a world belt in boxing as well.

“For me, it’s not about values, I make that very clear. Thank God, UFC and MMA gave me a lot of things. I think about that, yes, having a career in boxing, but I want to start at the bottom, start from scratch, I want to rank up until one day I can fight for a belt, I don't want to fight for the sake of fighting, for money, to get money from fights or to challenge any other champion. I respect it, it's a new modality, boxing is very old, very traditional, I respect all boxers. I want to have a career in boxing, and that was my biggest dream, one day being able to hold a title in both MMA and boxing”, he commented, in an interview with the Combate channel.

Your biggest rival, Conor McGregor He is also looking for boxing fights, but the Irishman has his sights set on a fight against Floyd Mayweather. However, Aldo is not concerned about the next steps of the enemy, whom he called “m…”.

“I hope Conor gets his ass right in the eye, that's what's important to me, I don't give a damn about him. I already said he's a piece of shit, so for me, what he does or doesn't do, I don't care, I care about myself. I'm training, I want to defend my belt, I want to fly higher, and as for the rest, for me it's the rest, I don't care what he does or doesn't do, it's his problem”, he pointed out.

Aldo and McGregor haven't fought since the Irishman entered the UFC, provoking the Brazilian, then owner of the featherweight belt. After the fight between the two at UFC 189 was canceled due to Aldo's injury, they faced each other at UFC 194, with the Irishman winning by knockout in just 13 seconds. Since then, the Brazilian has won Frankie Edgar for the interim title, which became linear after Conor won the lightweight belt at UFC 205.
