The heavy weight Francis Ngannou faces the biggest opponent of his career, this Saturday (28), at UFC Denver: the former UFC champion Andrei Arlovski. But the promise of the division is already thinking ahead. In an interview before the event, he assured that he sees himself as the owner of the belt soon. The current champion is the North American Stipe Miocic, which was criticized by Ngannou.
“I don't know if I'll be a star, but I know I'll be the new champion of this division. In the UFC, everyone is a good fighter and can be a champion. Miocic is a good champion, but I don't think he represents the title well. I think someone can do more than him. I've dreamed about this since I was a boy. It's difficult, but I kept dreaming, I never gave up. I'm very happy to have this opportunity in the UFC, so I promised to do my best, maybe more than my best”, he commented to the North American website MMA Junkie.
Despite being 30 years old, Ngannou still has a long career ahead of him, as he has only ten professional fights, with nine wins and just one loss. In the UFC, there are four triumphs, all ended prematurely: three knockouts (including one over Brazilian Luis Henrique KLB) and a submission, achieved in his last fight, against Anthony Hamilton. He is currently ranked number 10 in the division.
