Daniel Cormier defends his UFC light heavyweight title against Anthony Johnson, at UFC 210, but his mind remains focused on a rematch with Jon Jones. The former belt owner was the only one to have defeated DC in MMA, when the two fought at UFC 182. However, Bones ended up having problems outside the Octagon and had his title stripped. The current champion admits that he still thinks about his rival and guarantees that he wouldn't mind if he only fought against Jon Jones, several times, until the end of his career.

“I want this fight. I would like to fight him all the time. I always said that. For me, I would fight Jones until the end of my career”, commented Cormier, on the North American radio program “The Luke Thomas Show”, reiterating that he does not think his next opponent is as difficult as Jones himself.

“I’m not that worried about Johnson and what he does. I have to prepare and worry about what I do. Honestly speaking, the only guy I study, that I specifically prepare for is Jon Jones. Because I know that with the rest of the guys in the division, my skills are better than theirs. Anthony punches hard and kicks hard. There are a lot of guys who do this. But there are no fighters who do what Jones is capable of doing. His abilities are so different that I need to prepare specifically for him”, he pondered.

Cormier won the light heavyweight title in his first fight against Anthony Johnson. “Rumble” would face Jon Jones for the title at UFC 187, but the then champion lost the title after being involved in an accident while driving under the influence of drugs and drink. The current champion replaced him and beat Johnson via submission. Since then, DC has defended its title against Alexander Gustafson and won Anderson Silva in a three-round duel. Johnson lined up three opponents: Jimi Manuwa, Ryan bader e Glover Teixeira.
