The vast majority of challengers to Conor McGregor They think about the money that a duel against the lightweight will bring into their pockets. Former middleweight champion Anderson Silva, one of those who got in line to face the Irish star, thinks differently. In a press interview at Media Day before UFC 208, Spider denied that his interest in facing the “Notorious” had financial motivations. Anderson praised Conor's standup game and said he would like to test himself against him, preferably at a combined weight of up to 80 kg (see the video below).

“I would like to test myself with Conor, because he is a very interesting martial artist. His stand-up game is very intelligent. The challenge is not because he is the current champion. It's the martial artist's challenge. I would like to have this opportunity, to see what this set of techniques would be like, both his and mine standing up, to see what would happen. But not to fight for a belt, but to know what it would be like”, explained Spider.

“I'm happy for this fight, it's what I love to do. Training is great, I hope I can bring this positive result to Brazil and my team. I expect a busier fight, with a lot more hit and miss”, he pondered.
