Despite serving a one-year ban for doping, Jon Jones Stay sharp on social media. The former UFC light heavyweight champion hit back at the recently retired Tito Ortiz, who had questioned his status as an MMA “legend”. In an interview with the online channel “Fight Hype”, Tito said that he did not understand why “Bones” was considered one of the greatest fighters in history, and that he had not done anything relevant in his career in MMA. Jones didn't like what he heard from the former fighter and provoked him through his official Twitter.

“I guarantee he would kneel if he had the opportunity to face me. This guy better enjoy his youth victory and keep to himself, I would make him look like a white belt”, he threatened Jon Jones.

The youngest champion in UFC history, winning the light heavyweight title at just 23 years old, Jones also broke the category's record for defenses with eight. The old brand belonged to Ortiz himself, who was the king of the division between 2000 and 2003, defending his belt on five occasions. “Bones” ended up having his streak interrupted after being involved in a car accident, and failing to provide assistance to the victim, which led to Ultimate taking away his belt. Months earlier, he had been caught with cocaine in his system, in a test carried out outside the competition period.
