Chael Sonnen is not known for mincing words. Therefore, it is no surprise that the Bellator fighter harshly criticized Ronda Rousey. For light heavyweight, the former champion has no skills as an actress and only got good roles due to her achievements inside the octagon.

“I doubt she will continue making films. I want the best for Ronda, but, if we're telling the truth, her entire history with MMA and cinema is linked. This girl can't act. She shouldn't even be capable of this, after all, she's not a trained actress. She had these opportunities to make films because she was very famous. It’s a house of cards: if one falls, they all fall,” Sonnen commented to the North American website “TMZ”.
Despite criticism regarding Ronda's career in Hollywood, Sonnen thinks she should keep fighting. He no longer sees her competing for the title, but he thinks Rousey could continue in MMA, fighting against other top-10 bantamweight athletes.
“I don't know what's going through Ronda's head, but in the history of sports, all sports, high-level athletes love to play this retirement scene. It's like a child who just wants to be spoiled. Let them tell you how good you are and how much everyone needs you. And as soon as the defeats come, and you stop being a great athlete, the conversations change. So, Ronda is in her prime, at 29 years old, and things aren't going to get any better for her. Will she become a title challenger again? No, those days are in the past. However, being a Top 10, there are still things that can be done, showing your skill, selling pay-per-view and giving the fans what they want.”
Sonnen and Ronda are personal friends, and their relationship became closer when the then UFC fighter invited the former champion to participate in TUF 17. Rousey helped with the training of the North American's team, which competed against Jon Jones. Among the athletes who were on the Chael Sonnen stand out Kelvin Gastelum e Uriah Hall.
