The heavy weight Junior Gypsy remains sharp in his statements outside the Octagon. With a fight scheduled against Stefan Sturve at UFC Halifax, on February 19th, the Brazilian once again poked fun at other athletes in the category, insinuating that his rivals are “afraid” of facing him.

“I can't wait to fight and see the athletes are well enough to face me. I understand why they don't want to fight me. I'm at a great moment in my career. My last fight was great, and I'm feeling this moment. I know how to use my strength and skills in the best way possible. It makes sense for them to be afraid of me”, he provoked, during an interview with the website 'MMA Fighting' (USA).

Asked about his next challenge, the Brazilian clarified that Ultimate looked for other alternatives, but the other athletes in the category did not accept the fight.

“We started considering it as an option when we were told the UFC was trying to get us a fight and most were turning it down. Some athletes said they didn't have enough time to prepare for me, others denied it or were injured. When I heard that the Stefan struve I accepted, I was happy since I have recovered from my injury and I don’t have time to waste”, he concluded.

This will be the second meeting between Cigano and Struve. In February 2009, in a fight valid for UFC 95, the former champion knocked out the Dutch giant in the first round.
