Dana White, president of the UFC, added even more 'fuel to the fire' of the rivalry between Fabricio Werdum e Junior Gypsy. In a chat held with the press, this Wednesday (28), the president revealed that Werdum refused two fights for UFC 207, which takes place this Friday (30), in Las Vegas (USA): against Junior Gypsy e alistair overeem, this one in Brooklyn, in February.

“Werdum turned down two fights. One of them was against the Junior Gypsy. Werdum turned down that fight. There are different ways to refuse a fight. I can call and say “Do you want this fight?” And the person responds: “No, I don’t want that fight.” Or the person might say, “Yes, for $800 and a pay-per-view appearance.” That's turning down a fight. And then we offer a fight against alistair overeem in Brooklyn and he refused – declared the president during a chat with the press, this Wednesday (28), in Las Vegas.

Through a post on his social networks, “Vai Cavalo” gave his version of the incident, showing a print of a message sent to Dana White on December 24th.

“I think it was a misunderstanding. I didn't know there were people interested in facing me and I never refused. Again, I didn't know. Please tell me if you have time to talk about this, because I'm ready to face anyone. Would you be willing to pay me $500 plus pay-per-view? I'll face anyone because I want to prove to you that I'm part of the UFC family. Please tell me what you think,” Werdum wrote in the message.

Werdum was scheduled to face Cain Velazquez at UFC 207, but the North American was removed from the card after a back injury, leaving the Brazilian without an opponent.
