Khabib Numagomedov is definitely interested in a duel with Tony Ferguson. Number one in the lightweight rankings, the Russian published on his Twitter, this Monday (02), a challenge to the North American, promising to pay him, out of his own pocket, 200 thousand dollars so that “El Cucuy” accepts to face him in a dispute for the interim belt in the under-70kg division

"Hey, Tony Ferguson, if the UFC doesn't want to pay you, I'll pay you an extra 200 thousand for your purse. Let's do this fight now. Now there is no excuse,” he wrote.
Despite the confrontation proposed by Khabib, the future of the lightweight category remains uncertain. Conor McGregor, current champion, announced after UFC 205, last November, that he would be away for a few months to monitor his wife's pregnancy, with his return scheduled for the middle of the year.
please note that Tony Ferguson e Khabib Nurmagomedov were scheduled to face each other in April 2016 in the main fight of UFC Tampa, but an injury to the American prevented the clash from getting off the ground.
Khabib (number 1 in the lightweight rankings) is undefeated in his MMA career, with 24 victories, eight of them in Ultimate. Ferguson, in second place in the ranking, has nine consecutive victories, leaving names like Edson Barboza the former champion Rafael dos Anjos.
