Gesias faces Aoki Shinya at M-1

Hero's two-time champion, Gesias Cavalcanti, was announced today on the card of M-1 Yarennoka, a new Japanese event, which features the entire Pride staff, and will hold its first edition on December 31st in Japan. Gesias, who will face Japanese Aoki Shinya commented on the event. “This fight is like it was for Hero's. They partnered up to make Hero's against Pride, which is now Yarennoka. Finally, they made this union to put all the thick-skinned people together. This will shake up the market, it was needed, as the UFC was taking the lead”, analyzed Gesias, who took the opportunity to talk about the confrontation.

“It’s going to be a great fight. Aoki is innovative with his style, there is something natural about his body type, he is very elastic. I have to stay focused so I don't fall for his game, play a fair game and don't give him space. There’s not much mystery,” said the ATT athlete, who will be training in Brazil for the fight. “I'm going straight to training in mountain biking. Tibau also arrived this week to train here and I'm also going to my old gym to train. Maybe André Benkei will also come to Brazil to take care of my physical preparation”, he concluded. In addition to Gesias' fight against Aoki, the fight between Hayato Sakurai and Hasegawa Hidehiko was also confirmed. Names such as Fedor Emilianenko, Tatsuya Kawajiri, Joachim Hansen and Luiz Azeredo are also being considered for the show.
