Nate diaz caused controversy when he appeared using an electronic vaporizer at the post-UFC 202 press conference in August of this year, when he was defeated in the rematch with Conor McGregor. At the time, the fighter himself stated that the object contained CBD oil, also known as medicinal cannabis, and explained by claiming that the substance helps with the recovery and inflammation process.
However, according Nick Diaz, Nate's older brother, the substance used did not just contain marijuana derivatives, but the herb itself. “That wasn’t CBD. He was smoking a chronic one. That was a 'kush' (herb variation)”, revealed Nick, in an interview on 'The Jasta Show' (USA).
Despite being a declared supporter of the recreational use of marijuana, Nate diaz never failed any anti-doping test. At 31 years old, the North American still doesn't have a date to return to the octagon, but there is speculation about a trilogy with Conor McGregor, in a duel that would be valid for the lightweight category belt.
