the return of Wanderlei Silva MMA is postponed. The Brazilian was scheduled to face Mirko Cro Cop in the third edition of Rizin, an event that takes place on December 29th, but he left the duel without further explanation. The fight would mark Wand's return to Japanese MMA, a stage that has made him famous in the last decade.

The situation left Cro Cop angry and the Croatian heavyweight fired harsh insults at `Mister Pride`
“I just received a message from Rizin Fighting Federation that Wanderlei 'the Brave' Silva doesn't want to fight me. He was scared and changed his mind, but he knew that from the beginning. He played tough at the press conference in July and he challenged me to a fight. I thought to myself: 'this man has courage'. But now we all see what he's made of, nothing but shit”, said Mirko who, despite being heavier than Wand, has already faced the Brazilian on two occasions, with a draw in 2002 and a victory in 2006.
Mirko also promised to hit Wand if the Curitiba native attends the Saitama Super Arena as a guest.
“He was once the 'Axe Murderer', but now he's just a scared little guy and the only thing he can kill is a mosquito. And Wanderlei, don't you dare come to Saitama to watch the tournament as a guest, because I'll give you a slap like you deserve. You're nothing but a scared bitch. I had a lot of respect for you as a fighter until now. I suggest a new name for you that will fit well… WANDERLEI “A GALINHA” SILVA” completed.
