A walk full of swing, with the chin up, arms open, relaxed and projected forward with each step: this style of walking is gaining more and more followers, especially in American sports. Conor McGregor, UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, set fashion with what is yet another element to his arsenal of provocations and ostentation. But where did this come from?

McGregor himself uses and abuses the movement in his public appearances. During the UFC's debut in New York (USA), on November 12, the Irishman went around the octagon in style after knocking out Eddie Alvarez and making history by becoming the first to hold two belts simultaneously in the organization. However, this is something he has been doing for years, which can be seen in the video below:

Due to the exposure given to UFC 205, the movement became known as the “McGregor Walk”, although the Irishman did not create it. Its creator is Vince McMahon, president of WWE, the largest pro-wrestling organization (known in Brazil as telecatch or wrestling), who used the walk for the first time even before McGregor had his first professional MMA fight. The steps immediately became known as “Billionaire Structure”, or, in free translation, “the billionaire’s ostentatious walk”.

McGregor and his achievements inside the octagon ended up popularizing the style in sports culture in general. We list below some of the figures from other sports, such as football, American football and basketball, that used the “Billionaire Structure” to celebrate his achievements and pay tribute to the Irish UFC champion.
