Former UFC heavyweight champion, Junior “Cigano” dos Santos continues to look for a new opportunity to compete for the division title. Through social media, Cigano took advantage of Thanksgiving, an important commemorative date in the United States, to challenge Stipe Miocic, current holder of the division's belt, suggesting a confrontation at UFC 209, which takes place at the Barclays Center, in Brooklyn, on February 11th.

“Hey Miocic, enjoy Thanksgiving in your new home. I hope it's full of food and friends. Shall we fight after the holidays? Brooklyn?”, wrote the Brazilian.

Cigano and Miocic already faced each other in December 2014, and on that occasion the Brazilian won by unanimous decision from the judges. Since then, the Brazilian has only fought twice: he was knocked out by alistair overeem and defeated Ben Rothwell in April of this year. Miocic, in turn, has scored four consecutive victories since then, including the knockout over Fabricio Werdum, which gave him the title of heavyweight champion, and victory over Overeem, in his first title defense.
