The talkative style of Conor McGregor combined with his talent inside the octagon, he has won more and more fans around the world. And apparently the Brazilian Glover Teixeira is yet another to surrender to the success of the UFC featherweight and lightweight champion. Sincerely, Glover says that McGregor deserved his recent achievements and compares the Irishman to Muhammad Ali, considered one of boxing's greatest legends.

“Of course his success is deserved, there is no way to talk about it. Am I going to say no? The guy sells, he knows how to speak, he's intelligent, he's not stupid, he doesn't say stupid things. McGregor doesn't fight, he just reacts, he's not the first to hit a guy. He goes to provoke, but doesn't fight. He's like Muhammad Ali. McGregor is selling the show and fights well, he's a real athlete, he's not out of shape, he's always training. He is a high-level athlete, who sells well, he deserves it. Who is more deserving than him? He does not have. It could be “Mighty Mouse” (Demetrious Johnson, flyweight champion), but he doesn’t put on a show”, declared Glover, in an interview with the website Combate.com.

Despite praising Conor, Glover states that he would bet against the Irishman in a possible rematch against José Aldo. “It's like we say: McGregor holds his own, does what he promises. I thought that hit on Aldo was lucky. To this day I think that, if they fight at featherweight, the José Aldo kills him. But, if McGregor was lucky, he deserved it,” said Teixeira.

Asked when he will return to the Octagon, Glover, who hasn't fought since August this year, when he was knocked out in just 13 seconds by Anthony Johnson, guarantees that his return will take place in the first quarter of 2017. The opponent, however, has not yet been defined, but he is expecting someone who is among the top in his category.

“I told the UFC that I'm ready, I sent a message. I think I'll fight in January or February, before March, for sure. (Ryan) Bader fought well against Minotouro, I want a top guy. I have no preference. For me, it doesn't matter, I don't want to say names. I'm satisfied against anyone, even more so because I'm coming off a defeat. I want to win again. With two or three wins, I will definitely have another chance to fight for the belt. I believe in this and I will pursue it”, concluded the fighter.

Glover Teixeira, 37 years old, has 11 fights in the UFC, with eight wins and three losses. He even challenged for the light heavyweight belt against Jon Jones, in 2014, but was defeated in a unanimous decision by the judges.
