The head coach of Conor McGregor, John Kavanagh, suggested that his pupil have two rematches in his first title defenses as UFC featherweight and lightweight champion. Your chosen ones are Max Holloway at 66 kg and Nate diaz at 70 kg.

Kavanagh's choices do not exactly reflect the names currently prominent in the categories. Among the feathers, José Aldo holds the interim belt, which would give him the right to duel with the linear champion. Among the lightweights, the favorites for a title fight would be Khabib Nurmagomedov e Tony Ferguson, which come from recent victories.

“I think the second best featherweight is Max Holloway. And I think the second best lightweight is Nate diaz. I think Nate would beat both Tony and Khabib. He really reached another level against Michael Johnson [in December last year]. We saw a new version of it. And he performed fantastically in both fights with Conor. That’s just my little, unimportant opinion on who the two best guys out there are,” he said, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Fighting.”

Holloway faced McGregor in August 2013, with the Irishman winning by decision. There were two fights against Diaz: a decision win for McGregor and a submission loss.

McGregor won the lightweight belt last Saturday (12), when he knocked out Eddie Alvarez in the second round in New York (USA). Thus, he became the first athlete to hold two belts simultaneously in the UFC.
