UFC president, Dana White, was largely satisfied with the outcome of UFC 205, an event held last Saturday (12). The attraction, which marked the Octagon's debut in New York City (USA), would have broken all pay-per-view sales records in the history of Ultimate.

The show featured a duel of champions between Conor McGregor and Eddie Alvarez, who arrived at UFC 205 as holders of the featherweight and lightweight titles, respectively. McGregor won the fight and became the first in history to hold two belts simultaneously.

White celebrated the result and stated that only another very unusual fight could surpass the new mark. "We did it. We broke the record. Now, it will take Jesus to fight the devil for us to break again,” he said, in an interview reproduced by the “MMA Junkie” website.

The UFC does not officially release the pay-per-view numbers for its events, but it is estimated that the record is held by UFC 202, in August this year. The attraction, also starring McGregor, reportedly sold 1,6 million packages. On that occasion, the Irishman hit Nate diaz in the judges' decision.
