UFC 205: In an electrifying duel, Edgar defeats Stephens in the last fight on the preliminary card

Brazilians Rafael Sapo and Thiago Pitbull are defeated, while Vicente Luque wins another by knockout

In the best fight on the preliminary card, Frankie Edgar overcame Jeremy Stephens in the unanimous decision of the judges (30×27, 30×27, 29×28) and recovered from the defeat suffered by José Aldo, in July this year. The fight was marked by twists and turns, including a knockdown applied by Jeremy to Edgar in the second round.

The dream turned into a nightmare for Rafael Natal “Sapo”. In the first fight of the night, Liz Carmouche defeated Katlyn chookagian in the judges' split decision (29×28, 28×29, 29×28)). Carmouche, who had already been the first woman to fight in the UFC – when she faced Ronda Rousey at UFC 157, now she can also say that she is responsible for the first victory of the historic edition held at Madison Square Garden. This was Liz's second consecutive victory, while Katlyn suffered her first career defeat.
