Suspended by USADA (US Anti-Doping Agency) for a year after being caught in a surprise anti-doping test shortly before his fight at UFC 200, in July, Jon Jones spoke about the sentence received. In a statement, the former UFC light heavyweight champion said he was happy with the outcome of the trial.

“While I was hopeful for a better outcome in today's USADA trial, I greatly respect the process in which they allowed me to defend myself. I have always maintained my innocence and I am very happy that it is clear that I did not intentionally take banned substances. I am pleased that in the USADA investigation they concluded that I am not a “sports cheater”. Being cleared of these allegations was very important to me. I've worked hard inside and outside the octagon to reclaim my image and my fighting career and I'm going to take these next eight months to continue training and growing as a man and athlete. Thank you to all my fans, teammates, coaches, sponsors and the UFC for their continued support.” Jon Jones.
