Used to provoking his opponents, Conor McGregor has experienced the other side of the coin against Eddie Alvarez, who he will face in the main fight of UFC 205, on November 12th, in New York. After promising that he will submit the Irishman in the second round of their clash, the UFC lightweight champion minimized Conor's qualities and assured that his rival only has “a strong left hand”.
“For me, it’s just the left hand. Conor is just a guy with a powerful left hand. That's how I see it. He moves very well. Mayweather does this too, as do many Philadelphia fighters. McGregor lives it and breathes it 24 hours a day. A lot of MMA fighters don't know about these boxing things they do. This is a movement that is very easy to cancel and we will dominate every second of the fight”, said Alvarez to the North American program “MMA Roasted Podcast”.
Confident about his first title defense in the UFC, the North American highlighted the work of his team and stated that he has a strategy drawn up to emerge victorious from the duel. “Without talking about my strategy, I'm confident in my coaches, our game plan and our ability to go out there and do what needs to be done. Let’s just follow our strategy step by step,” he concluded.
