Overeem returns to MMA at event in Russia

After controversial departure from alistair overeem of the Strikeforce heavyweight GP, the Dutch fighter already has a date set to return to action. According to the fighter himself had already announced last week, his return will take place in October, but anyone who thinks that Alistair will perform in Strikeforce or even in the UFC is mistaken. Overeem was announced, earlier this Thursday, at the event called United Glory, which will be held in Moscow, Russia, and will feature kickboxing and MMA fights on the card. In addition to the Dutchman, well-known names such as: Siyar Bahadurzada, Sergey Kharitonov e Dion Staring

Strikeforce heavyweight champion, Overeem had a disagreement with the organization of the show, when the promotion wanted to move the division's GP semi-final from October to September. The fighter, however, citing a foot injury and lack of time for preparation, did not accept the date change and was removed from the tournament. With this, the Brazilian Antonio Pezão, who would face the Dutch athlete, will measure forces against Daniel Cormier.

Even with the agreement with United Glory, Alistair remains under contract with Strikeforce, as the athlete has a clause in his contract that allows him to fight in any other organization without losing his ties with the Californian promotion.
