UFC featherweight champion, Conor McGregor has a particular view regarding the discord between José Aldo and Ultimate. The Irishman believes that the Brazilian, interim champion of the category, intentionally wanted to disagree with his bosses to escape the rematch between the two.

Aldo expressed his dismay with the UFC as soon as the fight between McGregor and Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight belt was announced. The Brazilian, who wanted a rematch, declared he was unmotivated and asked his bosses to release him from his contract.

According to McGregor, the Brazilian's revolt is just an artifice to disguise his real intentions. “I don’t think he wanted the rematch. I think he's happy with this disagreement and this get-out clause. I knocked him out, he came back, won a decision and has the interim belt. I think he wants this kind of disagreement with the UFC and he wants to go his own way. He doesn’t want that again”, commented McGregor, in conversation with the “LAD Bible” website.

McGregor faces Alvarez at UFC 205, an event that takes place on November 12, in New York (USA). On that occasion, the Irishman will try something historic: if he wins, he will become the first fighter in UFC history to hold two belts simultaneously.
