Rafael “Sapo” has a new opponent at UFC 132

The Brazilian Rafael “Sapo” Natal will have a new opponent at UFC 132, an event that takes place on August 6, in Philadelphia, United States. Initially scheduled to face Constantine Philippou, the Brazilian athlete had his opponent removed from the match, as the North American was called up to replace the Italian Alessio sakara, who was injured during preparation, in the fight against Jorge Rivera on the main card of the same event. As a result, the Minas Gerais black belt was left without an opponent for a few hours, but through his Twitter, “Sapo” confirmed that he will face Paul Bradley, fighter who participated in the seventh edition of The Ultimate Fighter, the UFC reality show.

“Me against Paul Bradley – This fight was scheduled for 2008, as soon as I arrived in the United States, but it didn't happen. I hope nothing goes wrong”, wrote the Brazilian on the microblog.

Rafael, who has a professional record of 12 wins and three losses, needs the triumph to stay alive in the organization, as in his two appearances in the UFC, he was surpassed by Rich Attonito at UFN 22 and tied with Jesse Bongfeldt at UFC 122, held in December last year. Bradley, who has a record of 16 wins and two losses despite being a former TUF participant, will make his UFC debut. The North American comes from a sequence of three consecutive victories, the last being over Eddie Larrea at the Extreme Challenge, held last Saturday.

It is worth noting that the injury to Italian Alessio Sakara was the fourth in the same fight program. Before him, Phil Davis, Vladimir Matyushenko and Rogério Minotouro had already been removed from the card due to physical problems.
