The Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA), an independent body that regulates UFC events in Brazil, announced this Monday (17) that from the next card held in Brazil, the use of instant replay will be permitted. In principle, the use of technology will only be permitted in “special” situations, in cases of doubt that could interfere with the final result of the fight.

According to the organization, using the new resources, referees will be able to disqualify a fighter, take the side judges to a technical decision or even declare the fight as a “No Contest”. On the other hand, it will not be allowed to use the replay to define the end of the duel, for example, or to check whether the opponent made the famous “three taps” in a submission.
