UFC bantamweight champion, Dominick Cruz took a dig at the organization for allowing Conor McGregor, owner of the top division, the featherweights, chooses his own fights in the Octagon.

Cruz, who also works as a commentator on the North American broadcaster “FOX Sports”, was asked by a viewer about a possible fight with the Irishman. The fighter was skeptical about his possible achievement. “Everyone is challenging McGregor, so I don’t want to be another guy, because everyone wants this fight. But the thing is: McGregor picks his own fights. It's not up to me, it's not up to the UFC. That’s up to McGregor”, he said.

Even so, the American assured that he has the necessary tools to beat McGregor. “I know this sport more than anyone, and it seems like the only way to beat McGregor is with your mind. I know I can do this. I also know that I could beat him technically. I'm difficult to handle at 66 kg. I can beat McGregor, absolutely, both at 66kg and 70kg. I don't call. I'm the champion and my style is shaped to move up a category, because I don't suffer damage”, added Cruz, who normally fights at 61 kg.

McGregor will return to the Octagon on November 12th, at UFC 205, in New York (USA). On this occasion, the featherweight champion faces Eddie Alvarez with an eye on an unprecedented feat: if he wins, he will also win the lightweight belt and will become the only athlete in history to hold two Ultimate belts simultaneously.
