Ronaldo Jacaré says: “Fighters are becoming mercenaries”

Ronaldo Jacare makes no point of hiding his dissatisfaction at not having received the chance to compete for the middleweight belt against Michael Bisping. After being passed over by Dan Henderson, the Brazilian called the current middleweight champion a liar and accused the fighters, especially Bisping, of thinking only about money, leaving the meritocracy of the sport in the background.

“Fighters are becoming more mercenaries than fighters. I think he (Bisping) disrespected an entire category, disrespected all the athletes who were in front of the Dan Henderson. He had no honor at all. For me he is a liar, because he said he respected me and considered me a great class opponent, and in the end he didn't do what he said after the fight and chose the Dan Henderson”, said Jacaré, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

Asked about who his fans will be for in the duel next Saturday (08), Jacaré lowered his tone and stated that he is not worried about who will win.

“Bisping is very tough, I never said otherwise. I’m rooting for them to put on a good fight and for the best to win, I’m not rooting for either of them,” said the jiu-jitsu ace.

Jacaré also commented on what it was like to receive the news that he would face Luke Rockhold at UFC Melbourne, on November 26th, the Brazilian assured that he had been looking forward to the rematch for a long time, but, according to him, the North American always avoided the duel.

“I reacted very well. Since I had done shit to get Henderson to fight Bisping for the belt, this was the fight I wanted for a long time. I believe that this fight was supposed to happen at the time of Strikeforce (extinct MMA event), but Luke always rushed to do this fight with me, but now there is nowhere to run, the fight is already scheduled”, he concluded.
