Wand already talks about UFC title: “I want my belt back”

Wanderlei Silva returns to the octagon on July 2nd, at UFC 132, to face the American Chris Leben. Away from fighting since February 2010, due to a knee injury, the Brazilian has not lost his confidence and his well-known sharp tongue. In a press conference held this Tuesday, by telephone, Wand stated that he had made the best preparation of his career and was already thinking about the UFC belt.

“I want to show the best Wanderlei Silva for my fans in this fight”, he stated, “I am in an excellent training center (at Kings MMA by master Rafael Cordeiro). He (Rafael Cordeiro) has 16 guys who fight for Strikeforce or UFC. They are tough, they test me every day, but this makes me stronger. I'm ready for my next fight, on the feet, on the ground and in takedowns, and I'm in good condition. I have the best preparation of my life”, said Wand, who is already aiming for the organization’s title.

PUBLICITY:

“I'm thinking about it (UFC title), of course, I want to fight for the belt. I want my belt back”, said the former PRIDE champion. “But I don’t think about that now. I've been out for a year, I'm going back against this great guy now”, said Silva, who hopes to have the best fight of the year against Leben. “We can have the best fight of the year. I don't like him, but I love money. I want the check for the best fight of the night, and maybe the best fight of the year”, concluded the Brazilian.
